Windows

Rubbers and Seals

These are important components which can ensure your home is warm, dry, and does not have draughts. Over time rubbers can harden, crack, break, and shorten jeopardising how weathertight and energy efficient your home is.

Signs of rubber and seal failure include foggy windows, cold drafts or hot air infiltration around the window, excessive outside noise, damaged window frames, and windows which are hard to open and close.

Short rubbers can look like the rubber is peeling away at the corner of the window, between the frame and glass.

Window Handles

Wear over time can lead to handles becoming loose allowing draught, moisture, and security issues to arise.

We will try to replace any brand and type of handle that you have, however if the handle has been discontinued or cannot be sourced we will find a suitable alternative for you.

We can also install lockable handles for improved security.

Window Stays & Hinges

Window stays and hinges hold windows in place and are fitted at the topside of a window (bottom side for hopper windows or the side for slider windows).

If you are having difficulty controlling how open your window is, if it is looking uneven, or daylight is leaking through the top of the window it is likely your stays/hinges need to be replaced.

Restrictor Stays & Security Stays

Restrictor stays control how much your window opens, often limiting it to 100mm approximately and is fitted at the bottom of the window. These are useful if you are concerned about how much your window opens and want to protect against unwanted visitors.

Security stays offer similar benefits to restrictor stays but are more adjustable.

Locks

With or without keys

Window locks or push locks that use keys are an extra security measure which can discourage opportunistic unwanted visitors. They are one of the best ways to ensure your windows are secure and are recommended for ground level and accessible windows that open out rather than up.

Vertically fixed to sliding sash windows, sash locks can also be an invaluable way to protect your home.
